Exclusive EPDM material from SAARGUMMI

EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) membrane is a material classified as an elastomer based on synthetic rubber. It is commonly known as rubber.

Material composition

The material consists of the following components:

  • EPDM polymer
  • Soot
  • Clay as a mineral filler
  • Stearic acid, zinc oxide and sulfur as vulcanizers
  • Technical oils

These components contribute to the high quality of these materials.

Advantages of the EPDM membrane

Durability. Unlike plastics (PVC, TPO/FPO) and bitumen materials, the EPDM membrane serves for more than 50 years without losing its technical characteristics during exploitation, as its efficiency has been proven in practice.

50 years warranty. Manufacturers of EPDM membranes are confident in the quality of materials and well-established production technology, therefore they confidently provide a 50-year warranty for their products!

100% waterproof. EPDM waterproofing membranes guarantee absolute water resistance and do not require the use of additional waterproofing layers.

Exceptional stretching. Thanks to the elastic properties of EPDM rubber, the waterproofing material can stretch by 400-450%, which allows it to be laid on surfaces of any volume and configuration without tearing or damage.

All-weather performance. EPDM waterproofing retains its properties even at extreme temperatures from -60°C to +150°C, so it is best suited for the changing climate of Ukraine and can be installed in any weather.

Environmentally friendly. EPDM membranes for roofs and ponds are made from safe materials without harmful toxic additives, which is confirmed by hygiene certificates, so they can be used for the construction of drinking water tanks and artificial fish ponds. And rainwater collected from the roof can be used to water the garden and plants.

Fast installation. Due to wide rolls, light weight, specialized factory accessories (tape, seals and adhesive for EPDM membrane), the team can lay from 100 to 500 m2 of membrane in one work shift.

EPDM scope of application

Ready-to-use technical solutions developed by the best engineers of manufacturing plants allow us to implement the most complex projects.

EPDM membrane is worth buying for:

  • waterproofing for all roof types;
  • installation of swimming pools and water tanks;
  • arrangement of nurseries for fish breeding;
  • waterproofing of baths, foundations and basements;
  • construction of tunnels and buried structures;
  • construction of parking lots and terraces;
  • construction of settling tanks and treatment systems;
  • arrangement of sports grounds;
  • construction of storage facilities for fuels and lubricants and industrial waste.

Three types of roofing systems using EPDM membrane

Three approved technologies are used to lay the EPDM roofing membrane:

  • ballasted;
  • mechanical;
  • adhesive.

Keep in mind. The ballasted method of laying the EPDM membrane is suitable for waterproofing a roof with a concrete base and a maximum slope of 3%.

EPDM membrane installation technology

The EPDM membrane as a roofing coating is formed by welding the seams using the vulcanization method in the factory or adhering the seams with glue. Only such methods were used to connect the EPDM membrane sheets before the introduction of a new technology - THERMOTEK hot air welding technology for EPDM membranes. We use special equipment that allows us to weld even large areas of material. The membrane is installed without fire, the procedure is absolutely harmless to the environment and can be carried out in any weather conditions. The modernized membrane installation technology reduces the time of waterproofing installation by several times, saving time and labor costs.
