NIKOLSKY is a large-scale shopping and entertainment center in Kharkiv. It is located next to Kharkivska embankment, Yaroslav Mudryi Square, the Law Academy and Constitution Square. Kharkiv residents call this part of the city the Nahirnyi district. This is where the history of Kharkiv began. It is surrounded by various historical monuments.
The construction project is being implemented by Budhouse Group (bhg.ua), a large Ukrainian development company. The building will become one of the decorations and a hallmark of the renovated central part of the city, filling a large unimproved area. A distinctive feature of this project is that the retail floors are connected by the largest full-height atrium in Ukraine.
The building will be put into operation in 2020.
Object's main parameters
- Total area is 105 000 m².
- The total area of the leased premises is 54 000 m².
- The estimated parking capacity is 700 spaces.
- The planned number of stores is about 150.
- In total, there will be 3 underground levels and 4 above-ground levels in the complex. The underground levels will house a parking lot, a grocery supermarket and a convenience store.
- The center will include a fitness club, a food court, shops, boutiques, electronics and grocery stores, as well as restaurants.
Features of the roof construction
A distinctive feature of this project is that the retail floors are connected by the largest full-height atrium in Ukraine. The roofing of the atrium passage looks light due to the large spans of metal structures made in structural glazing with a translucent TEXLON roofing system with 4 layers of ETFE polymer.
The total area of the translucent structure is 3 200 m², in shape it is a dome 8m high and 35m in diameter with a wavy extension that gradually decreases in height.
