Thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) membranes consist of thermoplastic olefins, such as a mixture of ethylene propylene rubber and polypropylene in a ratio of 70% to 30%. This ratio provides the required strength of the carbon chain. In addition, they contain special additives, stabilizers and antioxidants that improve the material's properties. An important difference from PVC membranes is the absence of "volatile" plasticizer bonds. TPO membranes are as close as possible in characteristics to ethylene propylene dielectric monomer rubber (EPDM).
