Material reliability. Reliability of roofing materials for flat roofs means maintaining all waterproofing properties without failures and the need for repairs throughout the entire planned service life of the material. Since the 1980s, PVC roofing membranes have been widely used on flat roofs in Europe and the United States. Back then, they already had quality and durability parameters similar to those of the modern ones. For nearly 40 years, millions of square meters of PVC membrane roofs have been protecting buildings from precipitation and proving the absolute reliability of the material throughout its entire service life. The proven service life of a high-quality PVC membrane starts from 35 years.
FPO/TPO polymer membranes have been produced in Europe and the USA since the 1990s. During this time, FPO and TPO membranes have shown high reliability, unique stability of chemical composition, weight, thickness and properties after a twenty-year service life, and excellent performance. The latest generation of polymeric membranes is FPO membranes, with an expected service life of at least 50 years!
Cost of a membrane roof made of PVC or FPO/TPO membranes. The technology of waterproofing with PVC, FPO/TPO membranes is confidently gaining ground in the construction market due to its competitive and affordable price. The finished membrane roof corresponds in cost to the traditional two-layer welded bitumen waterproofing, and in some variants of the roofing system, the final cost of the membrane coating will be much cheaper. The difference is especially noticeable in large commercial roofing projects.
The best cost of the finished roof is formed by the simplicity of the technology and the assembly of the roof like a construction kit, without the use of special equipment and other expensive devices, due to the lightness of all materials and high speed of work, low dependence on weather conditions, and the affordable cost of materials that have already become traditional and affordable.
The main advantages of membranes when used in large commercial facilities:
Reliability of seams. Polymeric membranes are rolled material with seams welded by automatic equipment, which allows for a reliable, airtight seam. The welded seam has twice the strength of a polymer membrane.
Low weight. The weight of a PVC membrane or FPO/TPO ranges from 1.5-1.85 kg/sq.m., which is important when laying a polymer membrane on an old bitumen roof, where additional loads on the structure are undesirable. In the case of a new construction, this means lower costs for the construction of floors, the required load-bearing capacity of which will be lower.
Fire safety. The flammability group of PVC and FPO/TPO membranes is G1-G3 (does not support long-term combustion), which eliminates the need for fire cutoffs and firewalls on the roof. The installation method is fireless. The low flammability and fireless installation method allows the membrane to be used at any facility with increased fire hazard requirements.
Vapor permeability. The relatively high vapor permeability of PVC polymer membrane allows the material to be used for roof reconstruction without dismantling the old roof. There is no need for under-roof ventilation. If the roofing pie is heavily moistened, aerators are installed to remove excessive vapor pressure.
High strength. The roofing membrane is reinforced with a strong polyester yarn, the membrane is tensile and elastic. Such characteristics are necessary on large roof areas, especially on rapidly erected buildings, where the roofing absorbs relatively large deformations of the building.
High installation speed. It is possible to lay up to 1000 square meters of membrane by one specialized team per shift.
High reflectivity. The standard light gray or white color of the membrane surface allows the roof to heat up less in summer, which reduces the cost of air conditioning of the building.

Experience with equipment. In order to be constantly in trend, to have market offers for its customers, any company is looking for the best solutions, including equipment/tools. Our specialists have worked with various manufacturers of hot air welding machines from Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and China.
Our experience has shown that welding equipment should only be the highest quality. Other options do not produce a stable constant temperature, work unpredictably in winter, have frequent breakdowns, are highly dependent on voltage drops, etc.

Experience with polymeric membranes. Experience in working with related materials and accessories. All components of a roof are important, otherwise they would not be needed. Materials on a flat roof can be divided into those that can be replaced and those that cannot and need major repairs.
Vapor barrier. If it is required, it is not for show, it must meet the design parameters. Otherwise, you can expect a problem with the moisture saturation of the roof.
Thermal insulation. In this case, more attention should be paid to the quality of installation and compliance of the insulation's technical characteristics with the design requirements.
Fastening. Special attention is required here. High quality fasteners with sufficient galvanization, polymeric fasteners with performance parameters for outdoor use in a wide range, correct selection of fasteners, and tear-off tests if necessary.
Accessories (funnels, overflow trays, aerators, etc.). It is advisable to select them according to the service life of the roof. Scheduled replacement is not a problem, but replacement in case of leakage/soaking of the roof may be critical.
