History of the company
RENOLIT was founded on May 4, 1946, in Worms, Germany, where it initially produced PVC plates with a team of only seven people. Thanks to financial opportunities, the company was able to purchase its first calender in 1950, which enabled continuous production of films and floor coverings.
By 1956, the main factory in Worms had been established, and a factory in Freilassing, Germany, was acquired for the development and production of plastic processing machines.
Over the years, RENOLIT expanded its product line, starting with the production of films for furniture fittings in 1963, self-adhesive films in 1977, films for window profiles in 1981, and 3D films for furniture in 1988.
In 1998, RENOLIT acquired the SOLVAY plant for the production of CAST-PP films in La Porte, USA, and eventually divided into independent companies.
In 1999, the company acquired Tarkett Sommer's Pegulan film division, leading to the opening of a branch in Frankenthal.
RENOLIT transformed into a joint stock company in 2003, with JM Holding GmbH & Co. becoming the holding company.
The company continued to grow, acquiring SOLVAY S.A.'s Industrial Foils Business Film division in 2006 and a film production company in China.
In 2008, RENOLIT Hispania, S.A. officially began operations, followed by the establishment of sales companies in Ukraine, Moscow/Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan in 2008-2009.
RENOLIT purchased the Italian producer of Eurogloss films in 2010 and was transformed into a European joint-stock company in 2011.
The company established a distribution company in Istanbul the same year and acquired the medical film production unit of AUSTAR PMC, China, in 2012.
In May 2018, RENOLIT inaugurated RENOLIT Chile SpA in Chile, which opened up new markets throughout South America. The company also commissioned a new PET production plant in Munich.
In April 2019, RENOLIT MEDICAL expanded its capacity with the commissioning of a new BS10 extrusion line.

- Automotive industry – special films and plates for protection, finishing and cladding
- Medicine and pharmaceuticals – special medical films and tubes are designed for the life support of patients (dialysis, sterile packaging for infusions)
- Buildings and construction – roofing membranes, membranes for swimming pools, films for finishing, cladding, decoration
- Shipbuilding – calendered films for thermoforming, protection and decoration of ship surfaces
- Advertising and packaging – special films for packaging, labeling, adhesive tapes, posters and digital printing
