Since plastics have become commonplace in our daily lives, problems related to these materials have also come to light. Most of them can be solved by using equipment from the Swiss company Leister, which is also available under the Axetris and Weldy brands.
The Leister Group holding company includes the following divisions:
1. Leister AG. Headquartered in Kegeswil, Switzerland. Established in 2011. Engaged in general management and strategic planning, coordination of domestic and international business operations. Defines quality standards and monitors compliance with them.
2. Leister Technologies AG. Manufacturing division. Established more than 60 years ago. The main plant is located in Kegeswil. Leading areas: hot-air plastic welding machines, heat fans.
3. Axetris AG. Research and production division established in 1998. It is engaged in the development and manufacture of micromechanical systems and sensors, as well as micro-optical lenses and diffractive optics.
4. Weldy AG. Manufacturing division, established in 1997 to expand Leister's product range in terms of more simple models. Headquartered in Kegesville. Since 2004, in order to bring production closer to the main markets, Weldy products have been manufactured in Shanghai (PRC). Since 2007, in response to market demands, the company has included functional plastic welding tools in its product range. The company's motto is "Simple - Good - Affordable". Main products: heat guns, welding machines (extrusion, for tarpaulins and billboards, roofing).
For the installation of modern thermoplastic PVC and TPO systems, Weldy AG offers various equipment variants. The compact Energy 1600, for instance, offers the best value for money. It allows to adjust the air temperature within 600 degrees Celsius. And more professional "Roofer RW3400" with a 40-millimeter width of the welding nozzle and sufficient weight of the contact roller provides high-quality seams. At the same time, the 3400W power allows to reach the required air temperature and air flow rate. The Roofer is the lightest in its category - it weighs only 15 kg.
Leister equipment can be applied in the following areas:
- Welding of thermoplastic materials, as well as their processing: extrusion, hot air with a rod, overlapping (for banner and tent canvases, geomembranes and roofing polymer coatings), molding and shrinking.
- Manufacturing processes: heating, melting, activation, welding, shrinking, solidifying, heating, drying, sterilization - all using hot air.
- Laser welding. It is used in medicine, automotive, sensor devices, microchips, soldering of electronic assemblies. Leister uses the exclusive Globo Welding technology, which allows laser welding of three-dimensional parts in one working cycle.
- Microsystems. Micro-optical components and micromechanical touch sensors are developed and put into production in the laboratory workshops.
The technology of roofing materials welding assumes that on small areas (up to 2,000 square meters) hand-held industrial hair dryers are used. On large areas (over 5,000 square meters) welding automatic machines are used.
Leister is the only company in the world that manufactures the entire range of hot air welding equipment. The Leister Triac S can be selected as an industrial hair dryer. It has a temperature control accuracy of ±10 °C. If that is not enough, the Leister Triac PID with an adjustment to ±1 °C will do. There is also a very lightweight Hot Jet S hair dryer, which is almost effortless to operate.
The Leister Varimat V2 can be recommended as a roof welder. This is a very reliable and high-performance tool for professionals. If you need the same quality, but cheaper - then it is better to take Leister Triac Drive, which, due to its original design, works well in hard-to-reach places.
Today, the Leister Group has four divisions and production facilities in Switzerland, China, Germany, Benelux, Italy, USA, India and Japan.
