Local and major repairs of flat roofs
Depending on the nature and degree of damage to the roof, as well as the condition of the insulating layers, 2 types of repairs can be performed on a flat roof:
- Local - is carried out in case of swelling and cracks in the roofing carpet, as well as in case of mechanical damage. Local repair is aimed at restoring the coating by sealing the deformed areas with mastic, sealants or patches. To do this, specialists carry out a detailed diagnosis with precise marking of the damaged areas prior to work; they can also apply testing equipment.
- Major - required if there is extensive damage to the roofing carpet. During a major repair of a flat roof, the entire old coating, hydro and thermal insulation, as well as screeds are dismantled and replaced with new materials.
The most common and affordable option is local repair, which allows you to stop the further destruction process in time and avoid serious expenses for the major roof repair.
